North Memorial Animal Hospital

Appointment Policy

To allow ample time for all patients and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate by appointment only. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

Leash or Carrier Policy

Even though we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy about new people, new surroundings and other pets. We require that animals be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the building.  Please ask any of the staff if you would like to borrow a leash for your visit.

Cancellation/ No-Show Appointment Policy

Our goal is to provide quality medical care in a timely manner to all pets whenever they need our care. In order to do so we have had to implement a cancellation/no-show policy. The policy enables us to better utilize available appointments for our patients in need of medical care.

Cancellation of an Appointment

In order to be respectful of the medical needs of all of the patients at North Memorial Animal Hospital please be courteous and call the office promptly if you are unable to attend an appointment. This time will be reallocated to another pet who is in urgent need of treatment. This is how we can best serve the needs of our patients.

If it is necessary to cancel your scheduled appointment we require that you call and speak to one of us or simply leave a message on our answering machine. Appointments are in high demand, and your early cancellation will give another pet the possibility to have access to medical care.

No Show Policy

A “no show” is someone who misses an appointment without canceling it by the actual appointment time. No-shows interfere with those pets who need access to medical care in a timely manner.

A failure to show up at the time of a scheduled appointment will be recorded in the patients’ chart and computer as a “no show”. The first time there is a “no show”, the client will receive a phone call from one of the office staff members alerting them to the fact that they have failed to show up for an appointment. If there is a second no show” a letter will be sent out to the client alerting to the fact that they have failed to show up for an appointment. The letter will also explain that a third “no-show” will result in a charge of $37.00 or their dismissal from North Memorial Animal Hospital.

North Memorial Animal Hospital feels badly anytime we have to turn a patient away, or delay care to a pet, due to a full schedule.  This is the number one reason that we are implementing a stricter policy. We understand that everyone forgets about an appointment from time to time, and that is certainly taken into consideration while establishing this policy. The number of no-show appointments will be counted for a one-year time frame.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Care Credit, Cash and Personal Checks.
