Pet of the Week

This week’s special pet was chosen by our team leader Jessica. Grace was the best dressed in the hospital with her cute hair feathers! She’s always so sweet and she has beautiful curly hair. 🙂

This week’s special pet is Atlas, a 5 month old Blue Heeler mix. She came to us through the Lawrence County Humane Society with a broken leg that had to be amputated. She has been through so much in so little time, but she is a fighter! Atlas is always happy to come in with her owner and share little puppy kisses. She melts your heart with her story and her looks!

Our pet of the week was picked by our technician Kadie. Frosty is only 7 weeks old but already he is making himself known. He got his name from his 2 yr old sister at home, who wanted to call him Frozen, but his mom decided Frosty would fit him much better. Please welcome Frosty to the North Memorial Family.

This week’s special pet is Carmita  a 9 year old Chihuahua. Our technician Kourtney chose her because she always comes in dressed up. We absolutely love when she comes in wearing her pearls! You can tell that her owner Rosemarie adores her and can never pass up a cute dress to buy her for her next visit.

Zhummi is a 7 month old Plott Hound that was recently rescued. Our technician Kourtney chose him because he is such a sweet and handsome boy! His owners tell stories of how gentle he is and that he likes to sniff roses. He even found a baby bird in the yard and gave it kisses. We can’t wait to see what kind of adventures Zhummi finds as he grows older with us!
This week’s pet of the week is “Jovie”! She was in last week for a routine spay and stole the staff’s hearts. Our technician Dawn picked her because she was so cute and fluffy! We couldn’t help but smile everytime we looked at her!

This week’s pet of the week is Hunter. Our team leader Jess picked Hunter because he is a sweetheart that loves treats and gives hand/paw shakes. His owners were the first to take advantage of our preventative care package, for a non-senior pet because they want the best for their sweet boy!

Pet of the week for April 27th 2016 was picked by one of our newest technicians, Tennille. Lexi, the 7 ½ week old golden retriever, brightened our morning with her adorable puppy face!

Bubba pic collage

Seldom does a pet with experience walk into an animal hospital freely, but Bubba the puggle dove in nose first with excitement! From the beginning of the appointment he walked into the room sniffing every square inch.  His immense curiosity for all the different smells knew no bounds as he stoically sniffed the Otoscope, not giving the doctor a chance to inspect his eyes or ears! Every time the technician or doctor attempted to leave the room they would hear a flurry of “sniffs” as Bubba attempted to follow them out the door. If you would like your pet to be more like Bubba, North Memorial has a “Fear Free” program for cats and dogs just call for information.

The pet of the week for April 13th 2016 is Beans.  Our technician Bradlin picked him because he is the most laid back, easy going patient. He never complains and is always curious about everything around him. Plus, he is named after food, which makes for the best names!

Little did we know we had a celebrity among us! One of our patients “Raven” played the part of Toto in a local play. He made us all proud with his performance.

Please help North Memorial Animal Hospital in welcoming Ziggy to our  extended family. Ziggy is a 9 week old Yorkie puppy. This cute little  guy weighs in as a heavy weight champ at 1.7 pounds, and is as big  as…….. well a donut!  Ziggy became a part of the Fracul family after  the loss of a beloved pet and friend. Ziggy is bringing new hope and  life to his family and we here cannot get enough of him. So welcome  Ziggy and we cannot wait to see how you grow over the next few months.

Our pet of the week is Bella, a 9 yr old Pomeranian.  Our receptionist Mary D chose her because she is absolutely the cutest little girl ever!  When Ann Marie comes to the front counter Bella will reach out her paw and set it on the counter eager to socialize with the staff.  Bella is so well mannered when she is here, we just love when she visits us!

This week’s pet of the month is Maggie a 12 year old yellow lab.  She  is a First Crisis Response dog in Pennsylvania. Maggie lends emotional support during disasters and has been to the Virginia Tech shooting, Indiana tornadoes and the Washington ship yard shooting.  We applaud Maggie and her owner for the great work they are doing and are very proud to be their veterinarian!maggie stull - pic collage

Our pet of the week is Sebastian an almost 2 year old fawn Great Dane. Our technician Kourtney chose him because he is one of the most well mannered large dogs that she has ever met. He is not only a gentle giant but will allow us to perform any procedure on him uninhibited. He is incredibly social and a very sweet boy! He reminds Kourtney of her Grandfather’s Great Dane who used to sit in your lap if you sat in his recliner. Shawn (his owner) has trained him as a show dog and is hoping we will see him under the lights at Westminster one day!

Our pet of the week for December 30th is “Riley” a domestic shorthair. Brittany chose Riley because she is the owner of a very stubborn and camera shy cat and is unable to get decent pictures taken of her.  So it’s no surprise that she’s in awe of the clients who are successful in this venture.  Riley is eager to pose for the camera and his owner, Vincent, always has new photos of this handsome boy to show off.  The bond between Riley and Vincent is evident in the pictures and in the stories behind them.

This week’s featured pet is “Connor” a 15 year old Burmese cat.  Our technician Lindsay picked him because he has a very unique meow and is adorable! Connor can actually be identified just by his meow. We love seeing him at the hospital and have gotten to know him well.

Coco pic collage

The pet of the week for November 4th is “CoCo”  a 12 year old Mastiff mix.  CoCo is a regular here for her laser treatments and was chosen by our receptionist Mary D.  The entire staff has become attached to her as we have watched how much improvement in mobility she has gained by the laser treatments.  CoCo is lucky to have such a dedicated mom that will do whatever she can for her.

Lilly Nelson pet of the week collage

This weeks pet of the week is “Lilly” a 10 year old Border Collie mix.  Our technician Tori choose Lilly because she loves Border Collies! The first time Tori met Lilly she came in to have a wound treated, we found out that her sister had picked on her because Lilly was (and still is) the instigator! Through all of it Lilly is always happy and excited to see us.

Bocce pic collageThe pet of the week for October 21st is “Bocce” a 6 year old Bull Mastiff.  Our receptionist Brittany choose Bocce because he’s a regular visitor to us and is always patient for his procedures and allergy injections.  He looks intimidating to those that don’t know him but he’s really a gentle giant who loves to lean against our legs and give lots of kisses to all his “girlfriends” here.

Fenway Pic Collage

Fenway, a 5 year Yorkie mix, is our pet of the week for September 16th, 2015.  Our Team Leader Jess picked Fenway because he is the sweetest pup! Even though he has been through several surgeries here he is still happy to see everyone and always gives out kisses!

Beyonce Pic Collage

Piglet Scalfari nmah pet of the week

The Pet of the Week for October 14th, 2015 is “Piglet” a 5 year old Mackerel Tabby and White DSH. When he comes to visit us at NMAH he is always sporting his red harness and leash. He is his Mom’s pride and joy. Piglet shares his home with another kitty Mia. Mom says her name is very fitting as Mia likes to hide and is always “Missing In Action” but enjoys her time with Piglet. Our technician Kourtney chose Piglet because he is a good example of what Amazing pet care looks like! Mom always does what is needed for Piglet and her other pets and he reminds Kourtney of her own kitty Moo as Piglet is always loving and laid back when he visits us.
